Simplicity and balance for fitness loving women!
My name is Rachel, also known as 'Ray Colvin' or '@MRSLIVEFIT' in the online space.
If there is one thing for you to take away from landing on my site, it's this:
...you see, You can waste your time focusing on all of the minute details of whatever diet or training plan you're on, trying to 'white-knuckle' your way through it...but if it isn't something you can keep consistent right now, then it won't work for you when you're "off" of it.
This is where I come in.
I've been down that road. I've felt what it's like to feel completely hopeless, like nothing you are doing is making any difference. I've also been so obsessed that I couldn't see that what I was doing WAS actually working for me - I hated my body, forgetting that MY BODY was doing everything in it's power to help me.
So what did that look like?
Over the years I've dabbled in all sorts of diets (Paleo, IIFYM, low carb, high carb, carb cycling, Carb Backloading, Intermittent Fasting...etc!). Not that I had a lot of "weight" to lose, but rather that I wanted to keep pushing my body to the most elite version possible. I was already rocking a 6-pack and a set of guns, yet I was never fully satisfied with how far I had come.
BUT WAIT, hold on. Let's rewind a bit.
BEFORE FULLY GETTING INTO FITNESS & NUTRITION, I struggled with banging my head against a wall to get a "six pack" or "lean legs". I blindly followed conventional wisdom and relied on "counting calories" and "burning calories" as if my body were some crackable equation.
Before I discovered my love for weights & eating clean/healthy foods, I thought by "just making an effort a few times a week" would get the results I wanted. I ate 1200 calories (or at least tried to) JUST AS "My Fitness Pal" told me to...NOT ANY LESS since that app instilled fear that I'd be in "STARVATION MODE" and store all my food (if it was any less than 1200 calories by the end of the day) AS FAT.
The irony in this part of the story is that I WASN'T CONSISTENT. I kept dismissing a few hundred calories over as "oh, it's only a few hundred...I've already had a few good days"...and then it became more often than not - which unbeknownst to me was just cancelling out my efforts to begin with anyways.
If there's one thing to know about me right up front it's that I love fitness! Fitness that's simple, sustainable and most of all FUN!
I also love to help others!

A few ways I can help...
After years of endless cardio, Jillian Michael's DVDs and unsuccessful weight loss attempts, I finally found the answer to my achieving fitness goals in lifting heavy weights.
I started out with Jamie Eason's Live Fit Trainer and a 'clean eating' style diet and immediately saw incredible results. I couldn't believe what a difference lifting heavy weights and eating healthy could make on my body!
Since then I've experimented with everything from Carb Backloading to intuitive eating while on a quest to find the best meal plan to fit my busy and social oriented lifestyle. I now follow Biofeedback Flexible Dieting, a plan I created with my husband Derek with our company Live For Today Fitness.
It's been 3 years now of lifting heavy weights and the journey definitely has not been easy. There have been ups and downs and highs and lows, but I'm happy to say that I've come out of it more informed, better equipped and with a deep appreciation of the struggle you're going through!
I can't wait to help you reach your fitness and lifestyle goals! So what are we waiting for? Let's get started!
